Announcement: New Materials for Teaching Philosophy

Posted on July 30, 2018

We are excited to announce the addition of an Introduction to Philosophy narrative to our teaching materials page, along with several additional syllabi for the existing teaching narratives. The aim of our project is to promote the full integration of women philosophers into the canon through a narrative approach, situating them as active participants in the philosophical dialogues of their era. The teaching approaches on this site also reflect developing trends in early modern philosophy instruction, which see a greater focus on “non-canonical” and “scientific” figures.

Many thanks to the latest individuals helping to reform philosophy’s canon by making their teaching materials available on Project Vox:

We will continue adding and updating sample syllabi and teaching resources, such as lecture notes, and welcome your feedback and contributions. Please contact us at projectvox@duke.edu if you are using these materials or the Project Vox website in your courses, or if you would like to share your own teaching materials for others to use and adapt.
